Being retired has given me more time to discover books that I never had the time to read, and now with the advent of audible.com, and squid.com, I have the opportunity to listen to many of the books that are on the New York Times Best Sellers List. I find myself attracted more to the NON-FICTION books. So it is only fitting that I picked the top of the list, “Killing the Rising: How America Vanquished World War II Japan” By Bill O’Reilly, Martin Dugard, and narrated by Robert Petkoff, and Bill O’Reilly. It has been quite an unbelievable listening experience, the book emphasizes many of the atrocities of the Japan armies, and the profound discipline that I never new President Harry Truman commanded. However it was the conversation that he had with Eleanor Roosevelt, right before he learned that is boss, Franklin Delano Roosevelt has died.
