When I was a teenager, going to the dentist meant that it was time to get some more silver fillings. Since my family was barely living on pay check to pay check, the only alternative to have my cavities, was to fill them with silver. I swear that the silver was always into my body, and eventually I would die from metal(silver) poisoning. As the years went by, and of course the price of silver went down, I think my childhood dentist was planning for his retirement, convince my parents that eventually the silver fillings had to come out, and the porcelain would be the better looking replacement. I always wonder why my dentist never gave my parents a rebate from all the silver he recovered. With the way the United States keeps printing money, I can see why my friend #Ronald G. Wayne(one of the original three founders of the Apple Computer Company) is constantly warning me that eventually our money, which is not back by precious metals, will be eventually worthless. In the early 1960’s there were still silver dimes and quarters in circulation.
It didn’t matter back then, most of my friends barely had any money. Getting a weekly allowance of $5.00 a week was big deal back then. gas was like thirty five cents a gallon, and a cheese burger, coke and fries was only a $1.50. The only precious metal I had was in my mouth, and it replaced within three years. I never thought that at the age of seventy, that I have money and all kinds of debt, credit cards, insurance bills, mortgages, and of course lots and lots of taxes. I can see what Mister Wayne means, I in essence have my own printing press, prints IOU’s instead of money. However something was announced this week from the #German Government, that last year they had a combined total $583 metric tons of Gold ship back to them from the United States and France. At $1200.00 an ounce, I can’t even imagine how much money that is, probably wrong, $1.6 trillion dollars. Yikes, that’s a lot of burgers, but I think Germany sees the handwriting on the wall, and not President Trump’s Mexican wall, that with all the spending our country is planning to do, that the US dollar will eventually collapse, and has nothing to back it up.
For the time being, I think it might be the right time to make an appointment with my dentist if I can get some gold fillings, better yet some gold dentures, heck maybe I should break all of my piggy banks and see if I have enough money to buy a gold mouth guard.
Wish me luck!
